History of Buckwheat.

Buckwheat is one of the world's first cultivated for food crops. Its use is originated in Southeast Asia around 5 or 6 thousand years ago. After that it spread to Central Asia, the Middle East, and then Europe. Buckwheat was documented(record in written) in Finland by at least 5300 BCE.

All about Buckwheat.

Buckwheat grain is the dried and dehusked seed of the plant. This triangular seeds are produced and processed to be used as a grain. Brown and dark in color, it is sold as grain or flour. Buckwheat has a nutty flavor which means it can be consumed raw or simply roasted. It light to digest and very filling and good for healthy. It is popularly consumed during the Navratri fasts in Indai.

Usage of Buckwheat.

 The buckwheat flour quite tasty and dark in colour, and also known to be rich in fibre. Buckwheat flour is Good for rotis, poories etc. and used also in the same way as the Singhara ka Aata, even though it is tougher in texture. This grain like seeds of buckwheat maybe used as a cereal or in salads.
Buckwheat is eaten as a cereal and used in the preparation of various dishes like waffles, pancakes, dhokla, chilas and khichadi.
They also served in salads, soups, stews and noodles. Gluten-free beer is another popular beverage made by using buckwheat.


Grainy Goodness of Buckwheat.

It helps to regulate(maintain) cholesterol levels which is good for healthy. It is an best alternative to fats and a substitute for meat. Buckwheat can drain excess body fluids from swollen body parts too.
